Diversity We are Defending Series

We are excited to present a new series of discussions:

The Diversity We are Defending

Every quarter (three months) we will host
a guest speaker who represents
a different belief system or lifestyle to speak.

Each speaker will explain their practices,
beliefs, perspectives, and life experiences
to help us all understand the great diversity
the we are defending.

Our first guest speaker was Arshad Yousufi
presenting "An American Muslim Experience"
on November 21, 2013.
It was an insightful evening and
we look forward to many more.

Be looking for the next guest speaker
in the first quarter of 2014.

WELCOME

On June 3, 2013, Colorado officially had its one and only chapter of the national Americans United for the Separation of Church and State formed and recognized.  Prior to that on April 25th we held a public informational meeting in Colorado Springs and June 19th we held a public informational meeting in Denver.  These meetings were to let people know of a local chapter forming, and we were happy to find many interested and supportive people.

Reverend Barry Lynn, the Executive Director of the national Americans United, helped us kickoff our newly formed chapter by speaking at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on July 18, 2013.  The event was sold out and we thank everyone who helped to make it a success, particularly the Center for Religious Diversity & Public Life-UCCS (especially Professor Jeff Scholes).

We are jumping right in and organizing not one, but two local concerts as part of the national Americans United "VOICES UNITED" event.  Please click on the "events" tab for further information on the concert in Denver and also in Pueblo.

If you would like to join us by volunteering, our sidebar has a list of volunteering opportunities we have available.  Thank you for stopping by our website.
